In 2016 Jason Romero set out to cross America on foot. He said it was a "Calling" from something larger than himself.
The 3,063 mile run began at Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, California and concluded on the steps of New York City Hall in Manhatta8n, New York. Jason averaged 51.5 miles/day and crossed America in 59.5 days - a top-10 fastest crossing in the history of the world (less than 400 people have crossed the United States on foot). His run established 4 new World Records for the blind and visually impaired (Transcontinental Run, 1,000 mile run, 10-day run and 6-day run). His route took him across 2 deserts, 3 mountain ranges and 13 states. Jason's 69-year old mother was his only support crew for the two month odyssey.
Running into the Dark is a memoir Jason wrote about the run, and his life-events leading up to the run. He is now a highly sought after motivational business speaker, who has been hired by likes of Amazon, Molson-Coors, Western Union, Anthem and Financial. Jason also speaks to youth around the world as part of his philanthropy.
